I was delighted to discover the king trumpet mushrooms my wife had bought for use on Thanksgiving, and immediately pulled them out of the fridge and went looking for miniatures to pose with them. I soaked some paper towels and put them around the bases of the mushrooms to get them to stand up straight so I could take a decent picture.
One quick and dirty GIMP job later, I've a fairly decent image to complement a future game location's description. It could use some work here and there but it's a start. :P

This is not the kind of "fun with mushrooms" I was imagining in my head when I clicked the link in my blogroll.
What the hell do you even make with mushrooms that big? Do you stuff them?
This is so funny. I love it. Thanks for sharing these photos.
We have wild morels here. Now I'm hungry. :(
You're not supposed to play with your food!!!
;)
Great pic.
lulz, mushroom forest
@Greg--those mushrooms are solid, so you slice them long-ways and grill them with 삼곂살 (samgyeopsal, Korean barbequed uncured bacon) for dinner. Or chop them and put them in a soup.
Awesome pic, by the way, Ze!
Fun with fungus. Keen!
This is wrong in so many ways and yet.... you win the internet today. :-)
Hungry & I want to see what lurks beyond those gigantic fungous stalks!
Don't want to encounter what took a bite out of the one on the right! Also, serendipity today's guest blog post is on Necromould
awesome!
You know, they weren't that tasty actually - I think they were much more enjoyable as part of a diorama here. :)
